About us

Local. Licensed. Built to last.

Elevate Power Services is a Southern Maryland electrical contractor founded by Matt Higgins and Aidan Smith, serving St. Mary's, Charles, and Calvert counties. We do service and repairs, residential work, and commercial work, and we treat every one of them the same way.

We started Elevate to do electrical work the way we'd want it done in our own homes: show up when we say we will, explain what the job actually needs in plain language, give you a written price before we start, and leave the work clean, to code, and ready for inspection.

When you call or send a message between 6 am and 8 pm, you hear back from one of us within two hours, guaranteed. Not a call center, not a dispatcher. The person who answers is the person who shows up.

Meet the owners

Matt Higgins, Master Electrician

I was born in California to a U.S. Marine father who served more than 20 years. My family moved often until my dad retired as a chief warrant officer and we settled in Maryland in 2004. Maryland was the first place that truly felt like home, and it’s where I’ve built my life and career ever since.

I was always an eager student, but sitting behind a desk wasn’t for me. I needed to work with my hands. Right out of high school I spent two years in HVAC, then two years in facilities maintenance at National Harbor. From there I joined A&G Electric and spent nearly a decade honing my craft on complex commercial and residential projects. Moving on to work on base let me deepen my technical expertise and earn my Master Electrician license.

Having worked across several trades, there isn’t an electrical challenge or troubleshooting problem I’m afraid to tackle. Every step of the way has taught me to adapt, solve problems efficiently, and deliver work that’s built to last.

Above all, family and faith ground everything I do. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart, Amy, since 2016, and in 2023 we were blessed with our daughter, Haley. Aidan Smith, Electrician

I was born and raised in St. Mary’s County and graduated from Leonardtown High School in 2022. In 2023 I decided electrical work was the path for me, and I fell in love with the trade in my first week. I’ve been mechanically inclined since I was a kid and have always enjoyed figuring out how different systems work.

A yearly electrical safety inspection and priority service from licensed electricians. One visit a year to catch problems before they become emergencies.

$350per home, per year. Includes a 60–90 minute electrical safety inspection.

What we inspect

  • All GFCI outlets and AFCI/GFCI breaker test buttons
  • Outlets and switches for discoloration or damage
  • Cover plates for cracks or damage
  • One panel, with a torque check on all breakers and lugs
  • Thermal image of the panel to look for hot spots
  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

  • HVAC terminations
